Indigenous business students come together

Indigenous Accountants Australia will host a pilot networking event on 25 March for Indigenous undergraduate business students in and around the Sydney area.

The event will provide students with an opportunity to meet their peers from other universities, and share their experiences. The networking evening will also provide students with the opportunity to connect with professionals from some of Australia’s most influential companies.

The organisers hope that if feedback is positive, Indigenous Accountants Australia (IAA) will be able to roll out similar events across the country.

“We hope that students really benefit from meeting others in the same boat; I know that this was something which helped me through university,” said Sarah Hyland of IAA.

Some of the companies that will be represented on the evening include: NSW Treasury, Coca Cola Amatil, KPMG, AMP Capital, Jones Lang LaSalle, ANZ, PwC Indigenous Consulting and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

This free event is open Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander undergraduate business students and alumni that have graduated within the last 18 months.
