IAA Google Visit

21 Sep 2017: IAA partnered with Google on 20 September to host a group of NSW based Indigenous university students at the Google Sydney office.

Guests were given a tour of the Google offices and an overview of Google operations, including information about the roles available at intern and graduate level.

The students, who are studying technical and business degrees, heard from a range of people across the Google team about both tech and non-tech roles, including Mike Lawther, Chrome Lead and Diversity Council Lead, who gave an overview of the company and spoke about the culture of Google, Camilla Ibrahim who spoke about Communications, and Emily Cole, University Programs recruiter, who conducted a workshop about how to build a CV and perfect your interview skills.

The day’s agenda was based around showing students what a career in the tech industry looks like and to help them prepare for any application in this fast-growing industry.

IAA Relationship Manager Timothy Werner said the day was a great success. “Those who attended got a great deal out of the experience. It was fascinating to see what life is like inside one of the world’s most sought after brands. We are very grateful to Google for their support.”
